“Don’t Let Your Subconscious Mind Derail Your Commitment”
I am fatter than ever and I am struggling with my own over-bloated belly and feelings of severe loss from my sugar-free sacrifice. The devastating loss is exacerbated from the cravings for beer and doughnuts. So I called in a Fitness Therapy session with the ultra-famous and ever positive Shari Fitness.
This drastic maneuver was a last-ditch effort to stay focussed on this 52 week caloric-deficit prison. I was happy to find that the mental and emotional chasm that I was self-fulfilling was very common. Shari was quick to surmise that I was letting my subconscious thoughts derail my fitness lifestyle commitment. The body does not like change. This discomfort and the crankiness was just brief moments of fictitious loss creation. Beer, doughnuts, and enjoyable food were not missing. They were just replaced by quality calories that should be just as enjoyable. High protein and higher quality carbohydrates in lower proportions in comparison to total protein.
Other than finding that I am more than 50% body fat and that my plan to ‘cardio’ myself into skinniness was silly and most likely ineffective, I am recharged thanks to Shari.
Shari believes that weight training and ply-metrics are more entertaining and more effective when coupled with a proper diet than basic cardio, like the treadmill or bike which you can get from bike shop morphett vale. The key is performing a variety of workouts that build your fat-burning engine, rev your metabolism and the production of fat-burning hormones, suppress your appetite, and help you burn more fat and calories all day long. Yep, your bike can do all that. Here’s exactly how to burn belly fat on the bike.
I also learned that I may want to moderate sugar consumption and ban sugar substitutes altogether. I was happy to find that yogurt and cottage cheese are on the meal list and I should eat every couple of hours. I love to eat and yogurt is not ice cream, though it will cover my separation anxiety for the moment.
My current commitment, like most around this resolution time, is to exercise all 31 days in January. I am 3 for 31 so far and I will try to mix more weight training into the mix. Maybe even a set of “Burpee’s” or two this month. I will add darker more natural carbs and many more fruits and veggies into my diet plan and try not to subconsciously remember what I am losing, but enjoy the new flavors I am gaining.

Thanks Shari Fitness for reminding me that: “the best workout for you is the one you are currently not doing”. This will remind me to keep changing and shocking my body with different and entertaining ways to confuse my metabolism and most importantly my subconscious.

Way to go Damon. I’d like to see you doing some of those Burpee’s. I have started my own weight loss program, and am doing mine much the same as yours. The total change in diet can be a bit of a challenge, and I have even added a low sodium aspect to it. Potato chips are like a drug to me, I am realy craving a bag of Lay’s. I guess I will go grab some celery and carrots. It is paying off though, I have lost 7 lbs so far.
Hi Mike
Way to go on your fitness quest!!! Salt, fat and sugar can be very addicting. To help with your salt cravings, add 1/8 of a teaspoon of Sea Salt (don’t use Iodized/Table Salt) to a 1.5 Liter bottle of water.
Celery sticks are great and are even better when you dip them in Natural Peanut Butter 🙂
Glad to hear you’re getting results from your efforts. Keep up the good work.
