Brioche French Toast…. Say that ten times, fast.
I think we all know how to make French Toast and we are pretty sure no normal person or child does not love French Toast for just about any meal.
Obviously you can use any bread for French Toast. Challah is the French Toast that is most common in our house but the absolute best French Toast on the planet is Brioche.
You can find Brioche Loafs in your local markets but if you want to raise your game and make your own, you can find the recipe for Brioche in our last post for Lobster Rolls (Just Click)
Here are the ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of real vanilla
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 shot of Orange Liquor or Grand Marnier
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs or Panko
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
- 3-4 thick slices of Brioche
- Caramel, Syrup, or Jam
Mix together eggs, heavy cream, Real Vanilla, Salt, and Liquor, and pour into a flat tray.
Soak both sides of brioche slices until they are completely bedraggled.
Dip them into bread crumbs on both sides.
Then Griddle them golden brown with a ton of butter.
Cover in Caramel (as seen here), Maple syrup if you are from New England, or your favorite preserves, if you are weird and English.
Then Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
