A Letter to a 1st Time Home Buyer

A Letter to a 1st Time Home Buyer

Dec 29, 2014

Dear First Time Buyer, If you are currently in the market for your first home, you may be curious as to how a Real Estate Agent can help you. You are about to be making an important decision for your future, a great investment of both money and time. I have a wealth of experience helping first time buyers like you make sound, informed decisions.   Ways that you will benefit from the help of a real estate professional: • I will help you establish a plan for a home that fits your needs. Style, size, amenities, and other preferences will help determine what kind of home is best suited for you. • I will help you to determine realistic spending limits. They can often explain alternative financing options or introduce you to a mortgage counselor. Agents can arrange to have you “pre-approved”, which can help improve your positioning in negotiations. • My access to all home listings within the multi-listing system enables them to evaluate based on your affordability and the qualities you desire. • I have access to information on taxes, real estate values, utility costs, and municipal services, all of which can aid you in your decision to buy. • I provide direct service by working for you as a buyer’s agent, helping to negotiate the best terms and price for you. • I can make you comfortable with the closing process and they will obtain closing figures in advance for your review. • I can recommend home inspectors, pest inspectors, and surveyors, and can help arrange inspections. These are just a few ways that a quality real estate agent like me can help you in your journey towards buying your very first home. More information can be found on my website or by calling me directly. I’m confident that I can provide the kind of exceptional service that will make this process an exciting one. Please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me with any questions you may have. I KEEP MY STANDARDS AND MY HEELS HIGH! OTP Coffee Shops!

OTP Coffee Shops!

Oct 20, 2014

By Michelle Knapp – Scoop OTP Co-Creator We love discovering independent coffee shops! Again, I like to clarify that we go to Starbucks pretty frequently, but that is simply out of convenience. Whenever possible, Scoop OTP likes to support the Little Guys. So here are a few more independent shops we have found to add to our coffee shop list. Enjoy! Mugs on Milton After opening its doors a year ago in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta, Mugs quickly became a favorite for the people working in the surrounding businesses. And it hasn’t taken long for word to spread to the non-locals. Grab an espresso, one of their delicious breakfast biscuits or a tasty sandwich for lunch. Like their Facebook page to keep up with the daily provisions offered at Mugs, and be sure to start a frequent shopper card for extra perks. They sell adorable mugs too! Stop in at Sis & Moon’s or UB4me while you’re in the area. Mugs on Milton is located at 35 Milton Ave., Alpharetta, GA. Cup Up Coffee Downtown Canton has been desperately in need of a coffee shop of any sort, so when we finally popped into Cup Up Coffee, located within the Audio Intersection Showroom on East Main Street, we were very pleasantly surprised. We had heard about this “coffee shop within another store,” but I’ll be honest — we scoffed. How good could it be? Owner/operator Peter has over 10 years of training as a barista and he handcrafts the beverages for patrons. He even created his own maple spice blend for the fall season. Yummy baked goods and a lunch menu are also available at Cup Up Coffee. Spacious enough for your next meeting too! Pop into B.Loved while you’re in Canton. Cup Up Coffee is located at 210 E. Main Street, Canton GA. Daily Grind Conveniently located between two Marietta High Schools, the Daily Grind serves up all your favorite coffee drinks and a food menu that is larger than most other coffee shops — no more having to make two stops for lunch and then coffee! Daily Grind has a large selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads and smoothies. The Daily Grind proudly serves Whit’s...

This Month In Real Estate

Aug 20, 2014

Tip of the month: Separate your clothes by season. If you have a tall closet with several rows of hanging rods, place the current season’s clothes on the lowest level, and move out-of-season clothes up to the tallest rods. Categorize your clothes by purpose: Work, casual, cold- or hot-weather wear and...

Meet Me at Marlow’s Tavern

Meet Me at Marlow’s Tavern

Jul 11, 2014

By Suzanne Taylor – Co-creator of ScoopOTP website. With many OTP locations and a Mall of Georgia location coming soon, Marlow’s Tavern is known for its classic American tavern fare. What does that mean? How about a diverse menu with classic dishes that are taken up a notch, or, as their website says, “elevated to gourmet level.” All I know is I love their Ahi Tuna Nicoise Salad and their Baby Kale Caesar. OK, so maybe I’m only appealing to Scoop’s female followers, but yes, their signature big bar sandwiches like Prime Rib French Dip or their Tavern Burger is right up my husband’s alley.     The atmosphere has a contemporary feel with black and white photographs. There are tables, large booths, a bar and a great patio area. The warm vibe is great for date night, singles evening out, a business meeting (they have wifi), a family Sunday brunch, or a ladies’ lunch. The versatility of this restaurant’s appeal is all grounded in their great menu and signature drinks. In my most recent Kennesaw Marlow’s outing, I enjoyed their signature Bloody Mary that has a cool pipette of Tabasco and Worcestershire. I like when a restaurant has something unique to their drinks. My girl friend enjoyed the Grapefruit Ricky, a signature vodka drink. Our Savvy Scoop Fitness expert has enjoyed their Sunday brunch several times and highly recommends it for their great selection. With so many awards and recognitions by magazines and foodies, it’s no surprise that this restaurant is Scoop Approved. I didn’t realize that Roswell’s Aqua Blue, which has been on our list since we started to Scoop is owned by the same company. Follow Marlow’s Tavern on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news on their insider’s club specials and live music. On a side note, my daughter and her friends recently went to Marlow’s Tavern in Cumming after a basketball game (one of the reasons we started Scoop was to find fun local places to eat and shop in between sporting events) and ran into Kim of Queens. She was one of the youngest winner of Miss Georgia and now has a famous TV show about beauty pageants. So to my daughter, this restaurant will always be Scoop Approved for having great tasting steak and a sweet star that engaged...
