marlows_400x400With many OTP locations and a Mall of Georgia location coming soon, Marlow’s Tavern is known for its classic American tavern fare. What does that mean? How about a diverse menu with classic dishes that are taken up a notch, or, as their website says, “elevated to gourmet level.”

All I know is I love their Ahi Tuna Nicoise Salad and their Baby Kale Caesar. OK, so maybe I’m only appealing to Scoop’s female followers, but yes, their signature big bar sandwiches like Prime Rib French Dip or their Tavern Burger is right up my husband’s alley.

The atmosphere has a contemporary feel with black and white photographs. There are tables, large booths, a bar and a great patio area. The warm vibe is great for date night, singles evening out, a business meeting (they have wifi), a family Sunday brunch, or a ladies’ lunch. The versatility of this restaurant’s appeal is all grounded in their great menu and signature drinks.

In my most recent Kennesaw Marlow’s outing, I enjoyed their signature Bloody Mary that has a cool pipette of Tabasco and Worcestershire. I like when a restaurant has something unique to their drinks. My girl friend enjoyed the Grapefruit Ricky, a signature vodka drink. Our Savvy Scoop Fitness expert has enjoyed their Sunday brunch several times and photo-18highly recommends it for their great selection.

With so many awards and recognitions by magazines and foodies, it’s no surprise that this restaurant is Scoop Approved. I didn’t realize that Roswell’s Aqua Blue, which has been on our list since we started to Scoop is owned by the same company. Follow Marlow’s Tavern on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news on their insider’s club specials and live music.

On a side note, my daughter and her friends recently went to Marlow’s Tavern in Cumming after a basketball game (one of the reasons we started Scoop was to find fun local places to eat and shop in between sporting events) and ran into Kim of Queens. She was one of the youngest winner of Miss Georgia and now has a famous TV show about beauty pageants. So to my daughter, this restaurant will always be Scoop Approved for having great tasting steak and a sweet star that engaged the girls.
