CAMP Skincare – All Natural and Organic Beauty Products

CAMP Skincare – All Natural and Organic Beauty Products

Oct 27, 2016

If I asked you what ingredients are in your face lotion, could you name them? Or better yet, could you pronounce them? Having great skin is an indicator of one’s health. The skin is the largest organ on the body. It only makes sense to treat it with the utmost care. Most, if not all, mainstream beauty products contain harsh chemicals and preservatives. Ever heard of Phthalates or how about Tricolson? Yikes!  They are meant to last on a shelf, not on your face.  After cycling through multiple beauty products, I finally found one to call my own: CAMP Skincare, a Toronto based line of beauty products that promote smart skincare using only Mother Nature’s ingredients.  I am a huge fan of the “Ying-Yang Balancing Facial Oil.”  As a repeat customer, I find that this oil leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated.  Did I mention that it smells amazing!? Ingredients: Cherry Kernel Oil: “Very high in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid known to effectively reduce acne while restores skin’s barrier function for a more supple, clear complexion.” Watermelon Seed Oil: “Contains over 60% linoleic acid and has the ability to dissolve sebum. Also contains lycopene, a powerful free radical scavenger.” Argan Oil: “Known as “liquid gold,” this precious moisturizer is high in Vitamin E, polyphenols and potent phytosterols known to stimulate cell regeneration.” Pomegranate seed oil: “Studies have shown that the polyphenols found in this superfood oil may prevent wrinkle formation and reverse photo-aging caused by the UV destruction of collagen.” Camellia seed oil: “Cold-pressed from the seeds of the tea plant, this moisturizing oil is extremely high in oleic acid which delivers Vitamin-E-rich moisture for diminished fine lines and wrinkles.” Borage Seed Oil: “The greatest natural source of GLA – an omega 6 fatty acid that stimulates skin cell regeneration.” Ylang Ylang Essential Oil: “Balancing. Improves hydration in dry skin and regulates sebum in oily skin.” Pink Grapefruit Peel Essential Oil: “Detoxifying. Refreshes and tones skin with a healthy dose of vitamin C.” You can feel the love that founder, Lisa, puts in each and every product.  You are getting what you pay for at $30 for a 1 oz bottle.  However, my philosophy...

Tex’s Tacos | The Original Neuva Texicana Food Truck

Tex’s Tacos | The Original Neuva Texicana Food Truck

Nov 20, 2014

Atlanta is known for a lot of things, but how about adding food trucks to that list? The food truck scene in Atlanta has tripled since first being allowed in 2010 housing around 75 food trucks, all with distinct concepts and flavors. The mobile cuisines do have a cult like following and it’s great to see the idea of food on wheels taking over the way people dine out.  One truck that has created quite a buzz and a name for itself around the metro city is Tex’s Tacos. Named the ‘Antonio Banderas’ of food trucks, Tex’s Tacos really lives up to its suave demeanor. The California style model is a fully equipped restaurant on wheels serving up some of the best Texicana style food you have ever put in your mouth. Tex’s Tacos isn’t new to the big city, having been around since 2011. Long-time pals, Mac Helms and Harrison Jones were the first to start this food truck concept and after three great years of creating what is still known as the Tex’s Tacos era, has now been passed along to former employee and food truck enthusiast Jeff Latham: “Working for Mac was a great experience and I have always been passionate about the Tex’s Tacos brand. It’s great to take over what is already an amazing franchise.” Tex’s Tacos also has a sister truck located at Auburn University,  owned and operated by another former employee of Helms, Evan Davis. “Neuva Texicana” is the style, which is a unique and exciting take on the traditional Tex-Mex cuisine. Tex’s Tacos features the best tasting tacos, delicious quesadillas, loaded lime fries, and a whole lot more. While the food is something to note, the people are what really make it a memorable experience. It’s like hanging out with your best friends when you order off the truck. The staff consists of a friendly bunch of guys, usually blasting some Phish, while whipping up what has been voted Atlanta’s favorite tacos. Terminal West At King Plow

Terminal West At King Plow

Feb 27, 2014

One of the greatest things about Atlanta is the music.  Cover charges and convenience fees aside, the non traditional venues that make up Atlanta create an atmosphere where ATLiens can come and enjoy real live music.  Amongst those that hold the title of entertaining great bands are The Tabernacle, Masquerade, Smith’s Olde Bar and one of my personal favorites, Terminal West.  Located off Marietta Street in West Midtown,  Terminal West is a cool unique venue with one main sound room and an upstairs balcony.  For the beer connoisseurs, the venue serves 40 to 50 different craft beers.  Seating is pretty non existent, but who wants to sit?  Oh, and smokers be aware, it does include an outside patio with a bar included.  Sure, it can get packed, and you may need to go outside for a breather, but what’s worse..a fan-less concert?  Terminal West has hosted some of the most memorable music events for the past three years that I have been in attendance. With 7,000 square feet this once iron and steel foundry, which explains the rail road theme decor, accommodates live bands, DJs, and special events. So what’s next on the list?  This weekend a guitarist and drummer duo, The Floozies will be playing on Saturday, February 22nd.  Snarky Puppy on Monday, March 3rd.  For a full calendar update: www.terminalwestatl.com  ...
