EZMOVES Tested on BS Tests

EZMOVES Tested on BS Tests

If you are an addict for ‘As-Seen-On-TV’ infomercials and HSN shopping gadgetry, this series is for you. If you have a review on any product or service, complete with photos, a short description, and rating from 1-5 Bulls… send it to editor@boldspicynews.com .   The Dilemma: We needed to move two large cabinets filled with china and crystal.  We did not want to take hours carefully unloading, stacking, breaking down, and rebuilding these decorative furniture pieces just to find out we preferred them in their original locations. The Solution: EZMOVES.  The solution that is shown on TV that can move a car across carpet by one man with just a little set-up.  We found ours for just $10.00 in the local Home Depot. We started with our Dining Nook that became overcrowded with one too many decorative storage furnishings. This little area was never meant for such formality so we decided to move the Crystal Cocktail Wine Sidebar to another location and change the china cabinet to the alternate wall. The carpet and wood-floor-safe pads are simple set up. The strong lever bar with adjusting wheel fulcrum was a little awkward at first and finding somewhere safe to place it on the furniture without snapping their bases was slightly stressful. Once the pads were in place moving the cabinets, full with hundreds of pounds of dining sets, was absurdly easy. It hovered smoothly into place with not one broken item including my back.   The Review:  This $10 solution saved us hours of time.  Originally I was going to rate this only 3 Bulls due to the difficulty and safety of using the lever.  Though I realize that we may have used this product for extremely heavy and fragile furnishings that may be at the ultimate spectrum of safety.  We would not recommend using it the way we did without two or more helpers for safety.  For moving any other solidly built furniture with strong base areas we give this product 4 out of 5...

Fat-2-Fit Week #50 (Two More Weeks!)

Fat-2-Fit Week #50 (Two More Weeks!)

Oct 30, 2011

Two weeks to go. The two biggest obstacles have been Recovery and Energy Levels for consistent daily workouts.  My original excuse of not enough time is funny now.  I seem to make more work-out time now that I have less time than ever with a new office and coaching gig. I am not sure that the pictures or the weight measurements show how much fitter I am.  I often run 3 miles and swim 1000 yards just for fun.  I can even out roller-blade my 11 year old. WK1                                        WK10                                 WK17                               WK50 Finally under 210 pounds. I have increased the ‘cardio.’ and added a little swimming. Life has been busy and the last year I have bruises from all of the ‘falls off of the wagon’. I may not make my goal, though I will be working hard to get under 200lbs. Check back on November 15th to see if I make it. We have the Top Ten ‘DO’s’ on November 5th to celebrate the last ten days of my life-changing, year long commitment....

Grayson Vs Brookwood

Grayson Vs Brookwood

Oct 27, 2011

Some years ago, when I was in High School we had a relatively diverse and cohesive student body, but this new rivalry has created something amazing. Two Impressively Flawless and Professional Videos. Cliques have always existed just like the 80’s movies ‘Pretty In Pink’ and ‘Weird Science’. None more historically divisive than that of the three groups; Athletes, Musicians, and the Audio/Visual Club. Even though most schools had an innate allegiance to their aegis, there has never been such a memorable combination of all three groups, as both schools bring their Friday Night Football Rivalry to the world of YouTube and social media. Here is the original Grayson video that has almost 200,000 views! Brookwood Where You At? httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6NMA7lAnGs&feature=share and of course the reigning champions’ response. Grayson Step Your Game Up httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On1uwi6UMgc&list=FLJIJsM-L8EKzEtdhE4Lq_fg&feature=mh_lolz …of course creative license defends all of the dangling prepositions in both videos and their...

Fat-2-Fit Week# 37 Beer or Ice Cream

Fat-2-Fit Week# 37 Beer or Ice Cream

Jul 17, 2011

Beer, Ice Cream, and Nachos.  Fitness and Healthy Living is not that difficult. As promised here are the multiple choice, question and answer subjects that even the fitness world does not want to answer.  Fitness experts tend to communicate in absolutes which can sometimes alienate the average, ‘not-as-focused’ section of society.  Here are some ‘either/or’ questions that tested all of the experts we asked.  Here is how we started and their answers are in RED.   “Please answer all the questions with just one option. Please pick the best option and answers like neither, either, or here is a better choice will not be published. This is just for fun and explanations of your answers would be very helpful to our readers.” Sandi Porter of START WITH THE INSIDE will start us off. If you had to eat Fast Food: McDonald’s, Taco Bell, or Subway? Subway – whole wheat sub, skip the cheese, load up with veggies, top with olive oil and a touch of vinegar. Yum! Processed Cheese Food or Pepperoni? Pepperoni, probably dabbed with a napkin and eaten in way moderation. Hot Dog or Nachos? Nachos, wiping off excess cheese. Microwave Popcorn or Chips? Popcorn, definitely. When you take it out of microwave, sprinkle with chocolate protein powder for a sweet treat. Sugar or Sugar Substitute? Sugar is sugar is sugar no matter how you package it. Cheat Days: Yes or No? Yes definitely, but only cheat meal, not entire day. For Clients it is most important to stop Smoking or Drinking? Drinking, affects metabolism and hormones so negatively. If your client could only give up one diet sin which would be first: Beer or Ice Cream? Wow, the choices. I would say ice cream to start. Give it up cold turkey, then work on the beer. Then: Beer or Wine or Liquor? Beer. Then: Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt or Sorbet or Sherbet? Ice Cream. Then: Frozen Yogurt or Low Fat Ice Cream? Frozen Yogurt. No time and can only do one: Cardio or Strength? Depends on goals, but generally Strength training. Build your metabolism to burn fat. Sauna or Hot Tub or Massage? Massage definitely, should be part of your workout...

Fat-2-Fit Week# 34

Fat-2-Fit Week# 34

Jul 3, 2011

4 Weeks ago I posed to the experts if it was possible to lose 40 pounds in 26 weeks or less.  Overwhelmingly the answer is yes.  The last 4 weeks have been the beginning of a last ditch effort to make my goal weight in this 52 week series.  My plans have been thwarted and derailed by Holidays, Professional Obligations, Ice Cream, Beer and of course a Hang-Nail.  In other words I have been plagued by a big bite of the EXCUSE MONSTER!  The good news is I have lost 10 pounds in just under 4 weeks and certainly the next 30 will not be as easy to drop. I will say that the more I hear one basic idea the more it seems to make sense when navigating the difficult fitness pilgrimage.  The idea that diets don’t work and the only true and lasting success you can have comes from “Lifestyle Changes”.   Which is the same basic premise I use to counsel my clients in my financial planning practice. “If your path to your goal gets farther away because of your current habits, the only answer is to change them.” I have been kicking and screaming trying to fight a lifestyle change that I can live with.  Honestly why live if you are completely restricted in everything you do and you have to stress out about increasing the load of an already packed calendar with trips to the gym and outdoor ‘cardio’ activity?…. because without your health, you have nothing. My question to the readers this week is: What is your #1 priority?  If your answer is your Husband/Wife, your Kids, your Church, your Career, etc. then where would those priorities go if you were less than healthy or worse?   Make your health and yourself first priority, or #2 through #’umpteen’ won’t matter anyway.   We will be asking the experts for our next post some very difficult multiple choice questions like: If you had to eat Fast Food:  McDonald’s, Taco Bell, or Subway? Cheat Days: Yes or No? If your client could only give up one diet sin which would be first: Beer or Ice Cream? This should be interesting.  If you...
