Remember the days of your youth stopping with your parents at the local soda fountain and grabbing a ice cream float or homemade sundae as your mom or dad sat and talked with the locals about everything?

Well I have to tell you, right down the street from my house is an actual standing soda fountain called Old Tucker Fountain, and just that happens. Not only that, but they have a killer menu of food, and amazing musicians. I have sat here today and talked with my pals that own the spot as I work, and every second another artists strolls in to eat, chat, and jump on stage and just play because they love it.

The vibe is amazing with old fashioned collectives on the walls, and smiling faces all over the place. Why even Tinsley Ellis has a studio right upstairs. I am sitting here right now as two artists, one country, another a trumpet player I know from around town are just playing for us all as we sit and chat. It’s so comfortable, I feel like I am sitting around the fire pit with my parents and their friends as they hang and play music. The place is a real soda fountain with the actual old time dispensers, and the food menu is amazing.  You can get homemade BBQ, Burgers cooked to order, homemade soups, and all kinds of amazing food on top of the killer deserts.

The guys at the Old Tucker Fountain host music here most nights, usually Thursday through Sundays, and host many kids music events, private parties, and talent contests on Tuesdays. We are also in talks of throwing after hours shows after 8 for artists to host their own shows. The owner Mike Holcomb and our pal Ty are huge music lovers, and also join in on the music. Every time I come here I am welcomed by name, with a huge smile and hugs. I love this place. The best thing about this place outside of the collective music, is these guys take part in the local community, by throwing benefits, hosting kids music, they do car shows, street arts and music shows, you name it…they do it.

The Tucker Fountain is a great place to hang out and talk music, shoot the breeze, eat, have sodas, hear music, meet friends, and just relax. If you have yet to come out and enjoy the place, it’s a must. You will not be disappointed and will get addicted to the love that goes on here. You can catch a car show, or a BBQ and Bluegrass show, blues, country, folk music or singer songwriter events. The coolest thing about this place? Most of the workers here are volunteer. People in music, music lovers or people in the community coming in to help out and work and join in on the days adventure.
