Texas Rangers just did the unthinkable by beating the Yankees machine and are off to the big dance for the first time in franchise history.  Nolan Ryan will finally be a part of Texas post season history from the management side of the business.

I still reminisce how as a young man I watched Nolan Ryan break the sound barrier on a regular basis and wonder how they could have never been in the World Series with a pitcher of his caliber.  I use to wonder if the catcher needed a special, ‘extra-padded’ glove to handle 100 MPH’s.

It is a happy day in baseball firsts for the great state of Texas.   Now, will it be the Phillies or the Giants?

Congratulations Texas from this childhood Yankee fan.  You are my wife’s favorite and I am sure her Lithuanian Witchcraft will be protecting you when you get to the World Series.
